Welcome to the Holidays 2009 edition of the Acupuncture Awareness Newsletter. I wish everyone a joyous, fruitful and prosperous holiday season. In observance of the holidays, Mandarin Healing Center will be closed after Monday, December 21st and will reopen on Monday, December 28th.
Seasonal Nutrition
Honor your body by eating seasonally appropriate foods. For the colder months have warm soups, steamed vegetables, baked gourds, simmering stews and choose warming spices such as cinnamon, ginger, clove and cardamom that enliven your food.
In Chinese Medicine: cinnamon raises the yang or upward rising energy as well as promoting good blood circulation. Ginger warms the digestion and helps to transform thin white mucus from colds. Clove warms the digestion, aids the kidneys, and aids with vomiting and diarrhea. Cardamom is a warm, aromatic herb that promotes energy flow, warms the digestion, improves the appetite and helps to awaken the mind.
Holiday Gift Certificates – THE GIFT OF WELLNESS
Give the Gift of Wellness by purchasing a Holiday Gift Certificate or Holiday Wellness Packages for your friends or family members (for use by new patients only). Gift Certificates can be purchased for just $60/treatment. Five sessions are the minimum number of sessions recommended for most cases, so Holiday Packages of 5 sessions are available for just $300 – this is a $75 savings. The above deals are only available for purchase through December 30th. Call Felicia Dyess, A.P. at (904) 240-5927 to purchase your Holiday Gift Certificate or Holiday Wellness Package.
One kind word can warm three winter months.
