The Amazing Power of Coconut Water
About a month and a half ago, I met a friend at Present Moments Café in St. Augustine and shared a fresh and delicious coconut water (right out of the coconut itself). I had recently read about the great nutritional benefits of coconut water including that it resembles human blood plasma and has been used for transfusions in battlefield situations. About a week later, I assisted a friend in taking her out-of-town friend’s dog (Charlie) to a Vet Specialist for an ultrasound of what was potentially a bleeding tumor. After the ultrasound, the vet told us that he had found a bleeding mass in the dog’s liver and the dog was weak from blood loss. The vet gave Charlie an IV transfusion and told us that without surgery and chemo the dog would not live long…he did not expect Charlie to live the night or even get up to walk again.
Frantically my animal-loving friend asked my advice of what we could do nutritionally and holistically to save Charlie’s life and I suggested coconut water immediately. She went straight to Present Moments to get a supply of fresh coconut water and took Charlie home to care for him. My friend fed Charlie the water, did Reiki on him and got some milk thistle to support his liver. The owner was able to arrive home from South America after 3 days…and the dog was still alive and walking and happy. My friend maintained her regimen her for several weeks until the owner was able to take Charlie to a holistic acupuncture vet who had high hopes for Charlie’s condition.
A month and a half later, Charlie is still doing quite well.
Let food be thy medicine, and let thy medicine be food.
