Chinese Herbs for Fibromyalgia

The LC Balancer Chinese Herbal solution from Wei Laboratories in California treats Primary Fibromyalgia (prescription needed by a health provider). Pain reduction and elimination requires 1 to 3 months of LC Balancer solution therapy, the dosage of which is only 1 teaspoon 3 times per day. This formula contains ganoderma lucidum (reishi mushroom), gymnostemma, ginseng, sweet rice, honey and cucumber. This formulation works to eliminate Fibromyalgia pain by restoring proper systemic microcirculation that was shut off usually due to a viral or bacterial infection or the ingestion of certain medications. There may be one severe pain occurrence after 1-2 weeks of treatment due to the body’s conversion from a chronic state to an acute state which is necessary for the healing process. After 2 weeks, there should only be pain reduction. The only other concerns with taking the LC Balancer solution are an enhanced absorption of vitamins or minerals (so only take regular doses) and possible stomach pain or loose stool within the first week of therapy. This solution is very safe and is taken by cancer patients in conjunction with chemo or radiation therapy to reduce the side effects and pain from cancer treatment. *Special Chinese Herbal patches are used in conjunction with the LC Balancer for patients suffering from Secondary Fibromyalgia.

Happy New Year everyone!

The New Year
Please remember that small changes (in life) last longer over time than making drastic changes in lifestyle such as with the potentially burdensome annual New Year’s resolution. Set your goals and priorities for the New Year, but make sure they are attainable and have a doable timeline…so you don’t stress yourself out and potentially set yourself up for failure.

I wish everyone financial success and prosperity as well as great health and loving, supportive relationships. Namaste.

Dec 2009 Acu Newsletter

Welcome to the Holidays 2009 edition of the Acupuncture Awareness Newsletter. I wish everyone a joyous, fruitful and prosperous holiday season. In observance of the holidays, Mandarin Healing Center will be closed after Monday, December 21st and will reopen on Monday, December 28th.

Seasonal Nutrition
Honor your body by eating seasonally appropriate foods. For the colder months have warm soups, steamed vegetables, baked gourds, simmering stews and choose warming spices such as cinnamon, ginger, clove and cardamom that enliven your food.

In Chinese Medicine: cinnamon raises the yang or upward rising energy as well as promoting good blood circulation. Ginger warms the digestion and helps to transform thin white mucus from colds. Clove warms the digestion, aids the kidneys, and aids with vomiting and diarrhea. Cardamom is a warm, aromatic herb that promotes energy flow, warms the digestion, improves the appetite and helps to awaken the mind.

Holiday Gift Certificates – THE GIFT OF WELLNESS
Give the Gift of Wellness by purchasing a Holiday Gift Certificate or Holiday Wellness Packages for your friends or family members (for use by new patients only). Gift Certificates can be purchased for just $60/treatment. Five sessions are the minimum number of sessions recommended for most cases, so Holiday Packages of 5 sessions are available for just $300 – this is a $75 savings. The above deals are only available for purchase through December 30th. Call Felicia Dyess, A.P. at (904) 240-5927 to purchase your Holiday Gift Certificate or Holiday Wellness Package.

October AcuNewsletter: Super Cold/Flu Remedy

Acupuncture Awareness Newsletter, October 2009 Edition

Welcome to the October edition of the Acupuncture Awareness Newsletter. The fall weather ushers in a seasonal change of cooler weather and also the cold and flu season. In this edition, I have highlighted an acupuncture point used in an acute cold or flu situation as well as information on how to receive my extremely effective cold and flu elimination protocol which will aid you in shortening the duration of a flu or cold to a few short days.

Spirit of the Points – “Great Hammer”
This is the 14th point on the Governing Vessel channel located on the posterior median line, in the depression between the 7th cervical and 1st thoracic vertebra (basically the boniest lowest part of the neck). Great Hammer can be used in acute illness for upper respiratory invasions of Wind and Cold and for febrile diseases since it reduces fever. Helpful for neck stiffness and pain, cough, common cold, sensation of fullness in the chest, fever and chills. Excerpt from the Tai Sophia Institute Spirit of the Points manual.

Effective & Natural Flu & Cold Remedy – JUST $15
I have designed a very effective flu and cold remedy protocol that I have perfected over the last several years (on myself) to reduce the common cold and flu duration to just a few short days of symptoms rather than a week or more of misery and illness. This detailed protocol is available for a one-time fee of just $15 payable to Mandarin Healing Center.

This protocol package contains 9+ ways to reduce the cold or flu duration if implemented within the first 24-hours of symptoms for 2 types of the common cold and also for the flu. This very effective and natural protocol combines nutritional advice, natural remedies with specific Chinese Herbal formulas. Please call or email for more details.

September 2009 Newsletter

Acupuncture Awareness Newsletter
September 2009 Edition

Welcome to the September edition of the Acupuncture Awareness Newsletter. In the past, I have given advice on different herbs, vitamins and supplements to help improve your health and quality of life. This month I would like to focus on the beauty of acupuncture medicine by highlighting the many benefits of a specific acupuncture point which will give you an idea of the many possibilities that acupuncture has to offer.
Spirit of the Points – “Rich for the Vitals”
Rich for the Vitals is the 38th point on the Bladder meridian located on the upper back on the level between the intervertebral spaces of T4 and T5 midway between the spinal column and the inner edges of the scapula. In the most physical sense, this point helps to expand and relax the chest, regulate the Lungs, strengthen the Spleen, calm the Heart, nourish energy and blood quality and strengthen the Kidneys in the body. The "spirit" of this point is to use it when there is weak blood such as anemia and poor blood circulation. Needling this point brings a fresh surge of vital clear energy to the mind and spirit. This point is also called the "chronic illness point" because it goes directly to the vital organs to nourish them. Good point for Chemotherapy patients, chronic anemia or chronic illness. According to the ancients, diseases that settled here are almost beyond cure and the Taoists claimed that proper use of this point produced immortality, an overstatement that emphasizes the preventative and potential attributes that this point possesses.-point information taken from Spirit of the Points book from the Tai Sophia Institute.

Acupuncture & Coconuts

The Amazing Power of Coconut Water
About a month and a half ago, I met a friend at Present Moments CafĂ© in St. Augustine and shared a fresh and delicious coconut water (right out of the coconut itself). I had recently read about the great nutritional benefits of coconut water including that it resembles human blood plasma and has been used for transfusions in battlefield situations. About a week later, I assisted a friend in taking her out-of-town friend’s dog (Charlie) to a Vet Specialist for an ultrasound of what was potentially a bleeding tumor. After the ultrasound, the vet told us that he had found a bleeding mass in the dog’s liver and the dog was weak from blood loss. The vet gave Charlie an IV transfusion and told us that without surgery and chemo the dog would not live long…he did not expect Charlie to live the night or even get up to walk again.

Frantically my animal-loving friend asked my advice of what we could do nutritionally and holistically to save Charlie’s life and I suggested coconut water immediately. She went straight to Present Moments to get a supply of fresh coconut water and took Charlie home to care for him. My friend fed Charlie the water, did Reiki on him and got some milk thistle to support his liver. The owner was able to arrive home from South America after 3 days…and the dog was still alive and walking and happy. My friend maintained her regimen her for several weeks until the owner was able to take Charlie to a holistic acupuncture vet who had high hopes for Charlie’s condition.

A month and a half later, Charlie is still doing quite well.

Let food be thy medicine, and let thy medicine be food.

Missing Your Acupuncture

Just had to comment that I was recently at a networking event and met a woman who had in the past received acupuncture treatment for Fibromyalgia. She asked for my card and said that she would be calling me soon since she really missed her acupuncture. I don't think the average person would make that statement about visiting their primary M.D.This is a common statement I hear because of the way acupuncture can energize you, balance your emotions and give you a natural high in addition to helping you resolve or reduce other health concerns.I regularly receive my own acupuncture care for the very same reasons. To me it always feels like my eyes are a blurry dirty windshield and that the treatment itself cleans and brightens my eyes/windshield. I love it!
